Chinese Medicine Sunshine Coast

What is Chinese Medicine ?

Chinese medicine improves the quality of life now and keeps you well throughout your life. Chinese Medicine Sunshine Coast.

Traditional Acupuncture

The needles/pins don’t have medicine in them, what they do is stimulate your body to help your own body to make its own medicine, like giving your internal healing response a 10-20% boost. The pins spark your resources; what nature gave you and continues to give you.

Ancient Chinese medicine physicians recognized and practiced on specific areas of the body (acupuncture points). These points were recognised and trialled to relieve pain, treat internal organ problems, reflect on disease conditions and activate the self healing ability to keep people well.

Acupuncture and the other branches of Chinese medicine (nutrition, herbs, massage, heat therapy and exercise) restore homeostasis and keep the body functioning at an optimal level. When the body is functioning at an optimal level, we’re far less likely to get sick, and far more likely to recover quickly when we do get sick.

Chinese Herbal Medicine and Supplementation
Chinese Herbal Medicine is one of the oldest and most long standing healthcare systems in the world. The number of herbs used in Oriental Medicine has steadily increased during the past two thousand years.

Herbs are used to support and nourish the body, clear disease pathogens and enhance your well being to bring you back into optimal health. Herbs are administered alongside your acupuncture treatment and dietary and lifestyle changes, only if they are needed.

Moxibustion (Moxa)
Moxa is a traditional technique using a dried herb called Mugwort (sage). It used to warm different areas of the body with the intention of stimulating circulation through the points and inducing a smoother flow of blood. It is helpful for pain in the body, fatigue, chronic health problems, fertility, digestion and the immune system.
Cupping Therapy
Cupping involves sterile glass cups applied to an area of the body using a suction effect. This techniques is used to assist in the circulation of blood and metabolic waste that accumulate in the tissues and muscles. This therapy in combination with acupuncture break up the blockages lodged in the body (such as a painful shoulder) so that there is free circulation and improved range of movement. Cupping is also very helpful in drawing out a flu virus/cold from the body.
Nutrition
Nutrition is a large part of how Tanya works with people to optimise energy levels. Supporting healthy digestive function will strengthen the body. Chinese medicine includes seasonal living which means supporting our bodies with certain foods through Winter compared to  Summer, plus eating locally grown foods. Individual recommendations are advised alongside your acupuncture treatment.

Small dietary changes can improve your overall digestion function, support your immune system, settle hormonal ups and downs, improve fatigue and sporting performance.

Lifestyle Recommendations
Lifestyle recommendations assist you to remain healthy and prevent illness. It may be a yoga class you need to stretch out your body if your job is very stationary. It may be meditation to calm a busy mind and help you sleep. Or it may be talking to a professional through stressful life events.

Chinese medicine encompasses thorough care of you during and after treatment.
